Alberta Open Farm Days
The Government of Alberta is a key partner in Alberta Open Farm Days. First started in 2012, the annual two-day
ag-tourism showcase features farm-to-fork culinary events, and open houses at farms and ranches across the province.
It offers Albertans and visitors an opportunity to visit the province’s farms and ranches, better understand where their food comes from, and purchase local foods direct
from Alberta producers. It is an opportunity for new and existing ag-tourism operators to increase visitation and on-farm sales, host culinary events, or host ag-tourism
experiences at their farm or ranch.
Alberta Open Farm Days has experienced substantial growth over the past few years:
See the attached Alberta Open Farm Days brochure for more examples of the growth of this event.
Alberta Open Farms Days is a collaborative project presented by Culture and Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry,
Ag for Life, Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies,
Travel Alberta and participating farms, ranches and agricultural societies.
