The Tourism Entrepreneurship Program provides tools and services to help entrepreneurs start new tourism businesses and help existing tourism entrepreneurs innovate, expand or refresh their operations.

We offer a range of business and knowledge support services designed to encourage and grow entrepreneurial investment in Alberta’s dynamic tourism sector.

Culture and Tourism also promotes investment into, and the development of innovative tourism experiences, destination renewal and new destination areas.

One-on-One Business Coaching and Advisory Support

The Tourism Division of Alberta Culture and Tourism provides business advisory services to new entrepreneurs and existing tourism operators wanting to enhance or innovate their tourism product. Some of these services include:

Business Plan Development and Review Service

One-on-one discussions with a Tourism Business Development Officer to help develop and hone business plan for tourism businesses.

Financial and Regulatory Path-finding Support

We help businesses access capital, navigate regulatory approvals, and permit processes for tourism business development.

Research and Statistics

Tourism Division’s Business Development Officers in partnership with the Research team can help access selected market research for tourism businesses. This includes provincial research and statistical reports as well as third party market research resources.
