Travel Alberta Industry Conference

The Travel Alberta Industry Conference (TAIC) provides industry stakeholders with an opportunity to network, learn, and celebrate the success of individuals and organizations working to grow Alberta's tourism industry.

Tourism Research Forum

The Tourism Research Forum brings tourism stakeholders together to discuss the relevancy and application of tourism research, statistics and marketing effectiveness, and to identify critical research issues and gaps in the tourism sector.

Tourism Entrepreneurial Seminar

Regional partners will provide information to help tourism businesses start-up and expand with ideas and tips from industry experts. Seminars are held in regions across the province.

Growing Rural Tourism Conference

Rural communities in Alberta continue to look towards tourism as a viable industry to diversify their local economies. The Growing Rural Tourism Conference brings together communities and organizations who have embraced innovative tourism strategies and partnerships, and those looking at how they might bring new sources of revenue and employment to their own communities.

Spring Training and Showcase

Community and regional Visitor Information Centres (VICs) are welcome to attend this annual two-day event that combines classroom style training with a tradeshow component called Spring Showcase. Spring Training and Showcase prepares front-line VIC staff for the season with education on travel counselling skills, online tools and resources, customer service, Alberta product knowledge and more. This training opportunity is catered to staff members (especially those from accredited VICs) who come in direct contact with visitors in their centres.

Regional Training

Regional training sessions provide one day of travel counsellor training to staff from community VICs and other front-line tourism staff at various locations throughout the province.

Alberta Visitor Information Providers (AVIP) Conference

The AVIP Conference, held annually in the fall, is a one and a half day conference that provides an opportunity for managers and supervisors of AVIP visitor information centres to share ideas, learn about new programs and network.
