Reducing Barriers to Professional Development Bursary
Alberta Culture and Tourism and the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) have created the Reducing Barriers to Professional Development Bursary.
This bursary is for professionals working in Alberta’s recreation and parks sector seeking to attain the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association’s Professional Development Certification.
This online certificate is Canada’s only professional development certification program for recreation and parks practitioners.
The Reducing Barriers to Professional Development Bursary is unique in several ways:
- Targets recreation professionals in rural, remote or Aboriginal and Metis communities.
- Provides access (financially and geographically) to high quality training and education opportunities for people working and seeking to work in the recreation sector.
- Communities will be able to invest in an ongoing professional development program for their recreation and parks staff. This ensures their citizens/consumers are benefiting from advance level knowledge and services.
