National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week is an opportunity for local, regional, national and international events involving all communities to be held throughout the week. The goal of National Volunteer Week is to increase awareness of important roles volunteers and the nonprofit/voluntary sector play and to encourage volunteerism in our communities.
The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal
The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal recognizes outstanding citizenship, leadership, community service and volunteerism. Eight young Albertans receive the medal each year, selected from among the Alberta high school students who receive the Premier's Citizenship Award that year.
Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards
Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards recognize extraordinary Albertans and their volunteer efforts who contribute to the well-being of their community and fellow community members. Six awards, two in each category of youth, adult and senior are presented annually on or around International Volunteer Day, December 5.
Vitalize is the go-to training and skills development for the nonprofit/voluntary sector in Alberta. Delegates can choose from a variety of engaging speaker sessions covering topics such as fundraising, board development, leadership, stress management, volunteer management and more.
